As a young girl, Mindy learned many of the "standards" from her aunt and grandmother. They instilled in her a love of music from the 1930's, 1940's, and 1950's. "Blue Moon" was a favorite of theirs, and they took every opportunity to sing it together.
Her mother continued the musical education with music and movies from Hollywood's Golden Era. She spent many childhood hours re-enacting scenes and staging musical numbers with her younger sister. During her teen years, she began to dream of life as a performer. she was very serious in her studies of classical ballet, music and voice.
In 2018, her love for vintage music, clothing and performing came together. After being discovered as a "singing waitress," she began traveling around California performing at restaurants, clubs, and private parties.
In 2019, Mindy was invited to compete in the Karaoke World Championships where she placed in the top 100 at US Nationals.
The Karaoke World Championships moved to an online platform in 2020, where she placed 9th in the US.
Her musical influences include Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, and Madeleine Peyroux.
